The Provisional Press is a small DIY press that can be made for $40-$50 in easily sourced materials. It was designed for students to make one using a university's laser cutter. It is designed to be a way that students can continue to make prints after they graduate and no longer have access to a university's press.

In this presentation, I will talk about the research done to develop the press, the current state of the project, and the ways that I am hoping it can continue to grow.

Steve Garst is an artist and educator living in a small farm town in central Indiana. He earned his BFA and MA from Ball State University and his MFA from Miami University. He is currently an associate adjunct faculty member at the University of Indianapolis.
