Established in 1879, Hatch Show Print reflects the history of American advertising and entertainment, as one of the oldest letterpress print shops in America. For much of the twentieth century, the shop’s vibrant posters served as a leading advertising medium for Southern entertainment. Today, musicians and entertainers from around the world call on Hatch Show Print to design and print eye-catching, iconic posters, drawing on the shop’s incredible archive of wood type and imagery.

The shop moved to its current location on 5th Avenue South in 2013, and has built a team of educators, to provide tours, community outreach, public and private programs, and workshops. They have worked with school groups from second grade to collegiate, and have used letterpress printing and the story of the shop to discuss design, history, social studies, and math.

Celene Aubry is the Associate Director and Manager at Hatch Show Print, the iconic letterpress print shop continuously operating since 1879 in Nashville, Tennessee. While the business thrives as a letterpress poster and design shop, expanded programming includes a visiting artist program, a gallery showcasing print-centric art, and offering hands-on tours and workshops from the education space. Her personal work is a mixture of letterpress printing, and photographic printing, specifically cyanotype and van dyke. She has taught letterpress printing at Lillstreet Art Center in Chicago, IL, and letterpress and relief printmaking workshops at colleges and other printing-history related organizations.

Tori Zemer hails from Columbia, TN and attended Freed-Hardeman University, where she earned her BFA in Studio Art and BA in Secondary Education. Since 2016, she has worked for Hatch Show Print, coordinating educational programs and community outreach. The shop’s mission to be an educational resource aligns completely with her own ideals, and she is passionate about bringing the story of this 141 year old poster shop to learners of every age. When she does finally leave the shop, she loves going hiking with her fiance and their dogs, Chella and Butters.
